Toy and Activity Library in Corryong

18 January 2022

On Thursday 16th of December 2021 a Toy and Activity Library was opened in Corryong to mark the second anniversary of the Black Summer 2019/2020 bushfires. The library aims to provide fun and engaging toys and resources for families after a very tough two years.

The benefits of toy and activity libraries for children and families include:

  • Access to quality toys that support children’s development, growth and exploration of the world
  • Encourage play, engagement with others and provide a lot of fun
  • Teach sustainability, supporting families to borrow rather than buy toys.

The library is led by Australian Childhood Foundation’s ChildSPACE team and will transition to a community and parent-led initiative with Towong Shire oversight and support within a year.

Running between 10:00am – 4:00pm the library is free for all families for the first 6 months.

We hope to see many families come and enjoy the space, socialise, borrow toys, take part in our program of activities and continue to come back as often as they need.
