This training will provide a professional development opportunity for participants to build and increase knowledge on Aboriginal culture, the best ways of working with Aboriginal people who’ve been impacted by the bushfires and many more key topics.

  • Aboriginal life before and after colonisation
  • Resilience of Aboriginal people
  • Aboriginal culture overview
  • Working respectfully with Aboriginal children, families and colleagues
  • Trauma for Aboriginal Communities impacted by both the bushfires and COVID-19
  • Strategies and supports to assist healing and working with Aboriginal people from bushfire and COVID affected communities
  • The holistic model of trauma - the nature and effects of trauma including physical, social, emotional and cultural impacts
  • Working with Aboriginal Communities impacted by bushfires and COVID-19
